Parts of personality

Personally is defined as a set of non-physical psychological and social qualities that make one person distinct from another.

Sigmund Freud categorized personality into three. The id, ego and the superego.
  • I'd is the unconscious impulsive component of the personality which mainly focuses on fulfilling our desires at hand without considering the morals.
  • Ego, this acts as a mediator between id and superego. It is the self, especially with a sense of self-importance.
  • Superego is the part of the mind that acts as a self-critical conscience, reflecting societal morals.
